Meta Ditches Ambitious Apple Vision Pro Rival Plans - Report

This decision follows issues with production costs related to MicroOLED displays commonly used in competitors like the Apple Vision Pro. Despite Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth's downplay of the situation, the cancellation reflects ongoing challenges within Meta's Reality Labs division, including the indefinite hold on a VR version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and recent restructuring. Interestingly, despite these setbacks, Meta is still planning to launch two versions of the Quest 4 in 2026 and has an exclusive title, Batman: Arkham Shadow, set for release on Quest 3 in October.
