Valve has announced that the new Steam Deck OLED model will launch on November 16. The upgraded gaming handheld will be available for purchase starting at 10 am PT in the U.S. and Canada. To combat the issue of bots and resellers, purchases will be limited to one of each OLED model per customer each week.

Customers looking to snag the updated Steam Deck must have an account in good standing and have made at least one purchase on Steam before November 2023. Valve is also considering the launch an experimental move to gauge customer interest in potential future colorways and special editions based on demand.

The Steam Deck OLED versions boast improved OLED displays, superior audio quality, and a significant battery life enhancement—estimated between 30% to 50% longer than the original version. Available storage options include a 512GB model priced at $549 and a 1TB model at $649. The original LCD models have received a price cut to clear out the inventory with the 64GB model now at $349, the 256GB model at $399, and the 512GB at $449.

In our review, we highlighted the Steam Deck OLED's vibrant screen and the impressive battery life as notable upgrades. These, along with more storage options at the same price point, provide a tempting proposition for even current Steam Deck owners to consider upgrading.
