The highly anticipated post-apocalyptic open world MMO game, The Day Before, has been delayed once again by its developer Fntastic, with the new release date being set as December 7, 2023

The developer also shared a substantial update on the game, along with a fresh 3-minute trailer

This marks the third time the game's release has been delayed, and it's the first time the release for consoles has been confirmed to not coincide with the initial launch, contrary to the company's promise of no more delays

Despite no exact date being provided, it was confirmed that the versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S are set to be released alongside the game's full version

Fntastic's reasoning for the delay and restricted launch scope is they foresee unforeseen circumstances occurring, as this is their first major game

The final full version of the game will only be released when the developer is confident in its quality, with feedback from players being recognised as a crucial tool for meeting this goal

Fntastic also revealed they won their trademark dispute over the name The Day Before and teased that the Steam page, which was taken down in January 2023, would be restored very soon

Despite earlier announcements, the game's long-awaited beta will only accessible to 'volunteers', who participate in varied activities for the Fntastic community, ranging from translation to community moderation

No preorders will be taken for The Day Before, but its Early Access price on Steam will be $39, and the full version will cost $49

The minimum required PC specifications for the game were also released, as well as a new trailer that showcased character customisation, first person combat, inventory management, and driving

The development period of The Day Before has been mired in controversy, facing allegations of being a scam, owing to its repeated delays, use of unpaid workers, miscommunication, and copycat allegations
