Gamers anticipating the sequel to the popular survival game Ark: Survival Evolved will be pleased to hear that Ark 2 is still on track for its planned release at the end of 2024. This confirmation comes from Snail Games, the studio supporting the development, who spoke at the Noblecon19 conference. The CEO Jim Tsai assured that the intended release schedule is intact and also announced that downloadable content (DLC) is planned to continue until at least 2029, indicating consistent post-launch support for the title. Ark 2 will launch on Xbox Series X, Series S, and PC, revealing a substantial partnership with Microsoft as the game will be available on Game Pass at launch and stay there for a minimum of three years.

Further stirring excitement, the first trailer for Ark 2 unveiled that none other than Vin Diesel, renowned for his roles in the Fast & Furious film series, will be voicing and portraying the main character, Santiago. This star-studded casting choice is likely to draw more attention to the game. Preceding the release of Ark 2, Ark: Survival Evolved received a significant upgrade in the form of Ark: Survival Ascended—a remake of the original game using Unreal Engine 5—featuring enhanced graphics, a revamped user interface, new character customization options, and the addition of splitscreen multiplayer. This makeover was made available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series platforms.
