Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection's First Patch Revives After Rocky Release

Mar 19, 2024 10:50 AM

The classic "Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection" has received its first significant patch from the developer, Aspyr, after a rough start marked by negative Steam reviews due to multiple issues affecting gameplay. The update, which is already available on Steam and pending release for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, addresses a long-standing bug in "Battlefront 2" from 2005 and makes a slew of improvements across multiplayer, controls, visuals, audio and other bug fixes, with promises of more updates to come. Aspyr also noted ongoing server-side adjustments to refine the online experience. Notably, adjustments made to Hero Assault mode suggest the patch addresses new issues and is not associated with a high-profile mod previously discussed, as confirmed by the mod’s creator iamashaymin.

What does the new patch for Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection include?

The new patch includes modifications to multiplayer aspects, control schemes, visual enhancements, audio fixes, and an array of other bug fixes that improve game stability and performance.

Extra background information: "Star Wars: Battlefront" is a beloved series of shooter games that lets players experience battles from the Star Wars universe. Originally developed by Pandemic Studios, the Classic Collection includes the earlier entries that are especially popular among long-time fans. Since the first game's release in 2004, "Battlefront" games have been known for their immersive battles that span both ground and space, and featuring a wide array of classes, vehicles, and iconic characters from the Star Wars saga.
