Rumor: Resident Evil 9 to be the biggest game in the series

Nov 01, 2023 11:00 AM

Capcom is rumored to be in the process of developing Resident Evil 9, potentially the largest game in the series, according to insider Dusk Golem. As the series has transitioned into a first-person perspective since Resident Evil 7, it is expected that this approach will also be maintained in Resident Evil 9. While the game is not a direct sequel to Resident Evil Village (the eighth in the series), it is touted to conclude the storyline started in Resident Evil 7.

Given the high expectations, the game's development is claimed to be more costly than usual. The work is believed to have begun in 2018, though an official release is not expected until at least 2025. No official confirmations have been provided on these speculations. The previous game, Resident Evil Village, launched in 2021, along with the Resident Evil 4 remake earlier in the same year.
