Sony has revealed the necessary internet speeds for cloud streaming of PlayStation 5 games. Sony recently announced that PS5 game cloud streaming will be added to PS Plus Premium later this month - starting from the 23rd of October in Europe. PS5 game streaming to a PS5 console requires a minimum of 5 Mbps, as stated by Sony on the PlayStation Blog, with the games being displayed in 720p. However, a speed of 13 Mbps is suggested by the company. A minimum of 15 Mbps is required for streaming games in 1080p, while 23 Mbps is recommended. For 1440p display, 38 Mbps is advised, and for 4K, a minimum of 38 Mbps is needed, with 52 Mbps suggested.

Starting Monday, those subscribed to the highest tier of PlayStation Plus can stream specific PS5 games from the game catalog without needing to download them. Titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Mortal Kombat 11, Saints Row 4, and Ghost of Tsushima have been mentioned as examples previously. Also, trial versions - or demos - of PS5 games such as Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Callisto Protocol can be streamed. Some digitally purchased games, like Resident Evil 4 Remake and Dead Island 2, will also be streamable.

Options to stream PS4, PS3, and PS2 games via the cloud had already been made available to PS Plus Premium members.
