Remedy provides an update on the status of Control 2 and Max Payne Remake

Oct 31, 2023 2:45 PM

Remedy Entertainment recently updated on the status of its upcoming games, including the remake of the first two Max Payne games and the sequel to Control, during a conversation with investors. Control 2 continues to be in a 'proof-of-concept-stage' with considerable progress made on its ambitious plans, design, and the game itself, but it will continue to be in this stage for a few more quarters.

The previously announced remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 have moved beyond the 'proof-of-concept-stage' and are ready for production, expected to be released together as one package on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. The remakes will run on Remedy's Nortlight-engine.

Remedy also covered projects under the codenames Condor and Vanguard. Condor is set to be a co-operative multiplayer game likely set in the Control universe, ready for production. The company has gathered important knowledge about developing service games and is better positioned to create a game for gamers to enjoy for years. There is less information available about Vanguard, but the 'proof-of-concept-stage' is expected to be reached by the end of this year. Remedy is currently hiring for its development.
