Starbreeze Studios Responds to Payday 3 Troubled Launch and Outlines Future Updates

Starbreeze Studios, the developer behind the popular heist series, has acknowledged Payday 3's challenging launch. The game faced multiple issues, leaving players without updates for over six weeks. Lead producer Andreas Häll-Penninger addressed these launch problems and the critical backend error that impeded updates, affirming steps have been taken to prevent future complications.

The studio also announced the addition of two legacy heists from Payday 2, Cook-Off and Murky Station, to Payday 3. These heists have been adapted to suit the new game's mechanics without compromising their original appeal. Moreover, a new skill line called The Transporter will be introduced, enhancing the gameplay experience surrounding the carry and movement of bags.

Despite boasting a strong player count post-launch, Payday 3's numbers have seen a decline on Steam, with its predecessor Payday 2 still showing higher active player counts. Starbreeze has expressed a commitment to improving Payday 3 and rectifying issues to provide a better experience for players moving forward.

With these updates and the promise of better communication, Starbreeze seeks to rebuild trust with the Payday community and enhance the overall gameplay experience for Payday 3 enthusiasts.
