Like a Dragon: Gaiden To Release without English Voiceover

Exciting news for gamers out there, particularly the Yakuza series fans! The much-anticipated Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will initially hit the stores with no English-language voice acting, as confirmed by voice actor Yong Yea. But don't fret just yet; the English voiceovers will be added to the gaming experience through an update later on, though no exact timeline has been given for this yet.

This means players will experience the game on its release only in Japanese voices, coupled with English subtitles.

To recap, it was last June when it was confirmed that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name would be coming out on November 9 on various platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC. Additionally, the game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass for PC and console.

This spin-off takes place between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza 7 and delves into the story of Kiryu Kazama, the main character from the older Yakuza games. Some familiar elements such as city exploration will be part of this spin-off, but it's also designed to be a standalone side-story preparing players for Infinite Wealth.

Speaking of Infinite Wealth, the eighth installment in the Like a Dragon series is set to launch on 26th January 2024. Like a Dragon Gaiden will include a demo for this game.
