The first in-engine gameplay of the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, was showcased during the Xbox Partner Preview-livestream. Running on Unreal Engine 5, the remake promises to stay faithful to the original game while improving game play and graphics. The game was announced earlier this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. However, a release date is yet to be determined.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is set in 1964, much earlier compared to other titles in the Metal Gear series. Gamers play as a FOX agent named Naked Snake, on a mission to save Russian rocket scientist Nikolai Stephanovich Sokolov, and to sabotage a superweapon. Unlike previous games exploring urban and industrial zones, Snake Eater is jungle-oriented, incorporating stealth, action, and narrative features, as well as survival elements such as hunting for food and treating injuries.
Within the same week, Konami also launched 'Volume 1' of a Metal Gear Solid series collection, containing Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Metal Gear Solid 3 remasters. Fans are excited about the announced remake but are also anxiously waiting for the final result.
