Epic Games encourages developers to place older games on Store

Epic Games is enticing developers to place their older games on the Epic Games Store, pledging to let the developers keep 100% of the revenue for six months. The newly announced 'Now on Epic' program aims not only to draw games that are currently available on other digital PC stores but also to encourage exclusivity through the new 'Epic First Run' program, where developers can earn the full net revenue for six months for games exclusively offered on the Epic Games Store.

However, Epic Games also revealed last month plans to lay off about 830 workers, equating to 16% of its total employee count. It was simultaneously reported that there would be a price increase for V-Bucks in Fortnite later this month. Additionally, Epic Games has just completed the sale of Bandcamp, which it had acquired a year ago. This sale will result in half of Bandcamp’s staff losing their jobs, although Epic clarifies that these layoffs were already factored into the previously mentioned downsizing.
