Don't Starve devs' new CO-OP Roguelike Rotwood emerges on Steam: Dive into a realm of monstrous encounters

Apr 24, 2024 6:11 PM

Klei Entertainment has officially launched its new co-op roguelike game, Rotwood, into Early Access on Steam. This online adventure game invites you to brave the dangers of a monster-infested wood with up to three friends assisting you in battle. Rotwood promises a blend of challenging combat scenarios with corrupted creatures of the forest, with a focus on player progression and skill enhancement.

With an arsenal of weapons to choose from and a variety of fighting mechanics, Rotwood offers a depth of strategy to players. Each weapon enables different combat styles and combination moves, allowing players to customize their playstyle. Armor and weapons can be upgraded, and power-ups can also be collected, encouraging players to continuously improve their builds to take down increasingly formidable bosses.

Despite not having an official release date yet, Rotwood is available with a 10% discount on Steam, with the offer lasting until May 7. Post-discount, the game will be sold at $10.99. More details about Rotwood can be found on its Steam page and the official FAQ released by Klei Entertainment. Prospective players can look forward to a game that offers both solo and cooperative gaming experiences, filled with fast-paced action and formidable encounters.

What are the main features of Rotwood?

Rotwood's main features include co-op gameplay for up to four players, an array of weapons with unique combos, upgradable gear and skills, and the opportunity to fight challenging bosses for rewards. The game also focuses on player progression, build customization, and the combination of power-ups to enhance abilities.

As additional background, Klei Entertainment, the studio behind Rotwood, is well known for its acclaimed indie titles such as Don't Starve and Mark of the Ninja. They have a reputation for delivering high-quality graphical styles and engaging gameplay, and Rotwood appears to be a continuation of this tradition, expanding their portfolio into the popular roguelike genre.
