Diablo 4, the popular game developed by Blizzard, has been experiencing a slow period lately, as its first season is close to ending and no significant patches are expected until the upcoming Season 2. Despite the lull, the developers are looking to create excitement for the new season with a lot of new content, promising enough to justify two separate, multi-hour livestreams.
In the meantime, small improvements or "hotfixes" are continually being made to the game, although Blizzard could publicize these changes better. One such hotfix, released on September 14, may seem minor but it marks a significant change in the gameplay. It increased the experience points (XP) earned from defeating monsters in the high levels of the game – World Tier 3 and World Tier 4. This move addresses previous concerns about the slow XP gain rate after players reach levels 50 and 75, a change that was widely criticized after being introduced in a pre-Season 1 patch.
Although the increase is gradual, it shows that Blizzard is aware of players’ desire for a quicker leveling experience, something that is particularly relevant in light of other issues in the game, such as looting and endgame problems. Besides this, the hotfix also eliminates an exploit used to earn more Seeds of Hatred than intended.
As of now, all attention is on the first of the Season of Blood livestreams. Expectations are high for Season 2 to deliver important quality of life improvements and equally exciting content.
