Breakout Beyond Revamps Atari's Iconic Brick-Breaker Game

Atari is set to release a fresh take on its classic arcade game with Breakout Beyond, a revamped version of the beloved brick-breaker that originally debuted in 1976. Developed by Choice Provisions, known for their BIT.TRIP series, this new game features a sideways gameplay mechanic where players break bricks while moving left-to-right. With intricate combos that trigger vibrant lights and explosive special effects, Breakout Beyond promises an exhilarating experience for fans of the genre. It offers 72 levels along with an endless mode that includes a global online leaderboard. Additionally, players can enjoy local co-op mode for added fun. Initially intended as an exclusive for the Intellivision Amico, development has shifted to Atari. Breakout Beyond is expected to launch later this year across multiple platforms including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Breakout Beyond will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Atari VCS.
