Acclaim, the legendary video game publisher known for its classic titles from the '80s and '90s, is making a comeback. After closing its doors in 2004 due to bankruptcy, Acclaim is set to focus on reviving classic IPs as well as supporting indie developers. This initiative will include providing funding, marketing, and PR resources to help create new games. The advisory board features notable industry figures, including Jeff Jarrett, a two-time Hall of Fame wrestler, who expressed excitement about contributing to a new generation of gamers. Acclaim's impactful titles include iconic franchises like Turok, Mortal Kombat, and various movie adaptations that defined a gaming era.

Acclaim is known for a range of classic games including the Turok series, Mortal Kombat games, and adaptations of popular franchises such as WWF (now WWE), The Simpsons, and various movie tie-ins like Batman Forever. Many of these titles are set to be revisited in their revival.

Founded in 1987, Acclaim initially achieved great success with games on platforms like the NES and Game Boy. However, it faced declining revenues leading to its eventual closure. Following its demise, some of its franchises found new life with other publishers, and now the revived Acclaim aims to reignite interest in both old and new titles while fostering a stronger indie game community.
