A newly released mobile game might satiate some keen fans longing for the next installment of The Elder Scrolls series. Although The Elder Scrolls 6 is still under development, IGN revealed a new addition to the franchise — The Elder Scrolls: Castles. This mobile game is available for early access via Google Play, yet surprisingly, it hasn't been officially announced on Bethesda's primary Twitter accounts.
The game, however, isn't a fully-fledged Elder Scrolls edition. Resembling 2015's Fallout Shelter, The Elder Scrolls: Castles is a 2D management simulation game set in the Elder Scrolls universe. Players are tasked to manage a castle and its residents, similar to handling a vault in Fallout Shelter.
In this game, players construct rooms, assign subjects to workstations, make crucial decisions impacting their castle, and even create heroes for quests. These quests involve battling traditional foes from the Elder Scrolls games to acquire valuable items that help grow your kingdom.
Regardless, the essence of the game seems to parallel Fallout Shelter in terms of concept and execution. While this might appeal to fans of that genre, it may not be enough for ardent The Elder Scrolls followers eagerly awaiting The Elder Scrolls 6 release. Thankfully, the development process of the awaited game has officially begun.
