Braid, the acclaimed indie puzzle-platform game from 2008, is receiving an Anniversary Edition that will release on April 30, 2024. This updated version will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Netflix, with Mac and Linux versions coming at a later date.
The Anniversary Edition of Braid features visual enhancements with 'hand-repainted' graphics by the original artist, David Hellman, and animations that contain more frames for a smoother experience. Additionally, the game boasts improved sound, including new mixes and variants of the original soundtrack by Martin Stig Andersen and Hans Christian Kock.
Players will have the option to switch between the original and the updated versions of the game instantly, allowing for a direct comparison. The game also includes a developer commentary track, giving insights into its creation and themes.
Braid's gameplay is centered around a unique time-manipulation mechanic that has made it stand out in the gaming community. The Anniversary Edition is set to bring both visual and auditory improvements to this timeless indie title.
