Excitement is brewing among Yakuza series fans as the upcoming title, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, promises to be the longest installment in the franchise. Slated for release, the game is described as a "monster class" experience by the head of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Masayoshi Yokoyama, who warns fans of its extended gameplay duration.
Yokoyama emphasizes the significance of creating an engaging atmosphere for Infinite Wealth, comparing it to a festival to motivate players to dive deep into its rich content. The game continues the turn-based RPG style introduced in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, potentially exceeding the 50-hour mark for the main storyline and offering over 160 hours of gameplay for completionists.
This stands in contrast to the recent Like a Dragon Gaiden, a shorter, more focused title that connects the events from previous games in the series, which took around 10 hours to complete the main story. While some fans express concern over the potential for filler content due to the expansive length of Infinite Wealth, others are eager for the ample gameplay it will offer.
In a departure from its traditional Japanese setting, Infinite Wealth takes players to Hawaii, introducing dual protagonists, Ichiban Kasuga and Kiryu Kazuma. As anticipation rises, players are keen to explore what is touted as the most ambitious and extensive Yakuza game to date.
