Gamers looking forward to diving into the prehistoric world of "Ark: Survival Ascended" on Xbox Series X/S systems will have to wait a bit longer as its release has been delayed to later in the week. Despite aimed to be already available, Studio Wildcard, the development team behind the game, announced that the release has been postponed due to additional complexities in the approval process for the Xbox platform.

The remastered version of "Ark: Survival Evolved" promises a significant visual and performance overhaul utilizing Unreal Engine 5. Highlights of the update include a revamped user interface, expanded character customization options, and support for split-screen multiplayer. Notably, this version will also feature an in-game mod browser, historically a feature reserved for PC versions, which will enable console players to engage with community-created mods.

"Ark: Survival Ascended" became particularly noteworthy after a delay was announced for its much-anticipated sequel, "Ark 2," now set for a late 2024 release. The remake was originally slated to be available only through a bundle with "Ark 2." However, after some backlash from the community, Studio Wildcard reversed this decision. The initial announcement was also met with controversy as there were plans to decommission the original "Ark: Survival Evolved" servers with the arrival of the new game. However, the status of these plans is currently unclear.

PlayStation 5 players are tentatively scheduled to receive their version of "Ark: Survival Ascended" by the end of the month, following the game's previous release on Steam this past October. Fans are eager to experience the enhanced gameplay and visual fidelity offered by the new console versions.
