The "Phantom Liberty" DLC for CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077 has an important choice early on that can completely block players from experiencing the rest of the add-on's content. The main quests in this large-scale expansion can take up to 20 hours to complete, making it almost a game in itself.

However, a decision point during a mission called "Lucretia My Reflection" can determine whether you get to see the rest of the content or not. If you choose 'not to work' with characters including Solomon Reed, played by Idris Elba, during a conversation, you may lock yourself out of the rest of the DLC.

The critical decision comes when Reed asks your character, "is it worth it?" with three dialogue options. If you select the dialog "You're right; I'm out," you will be locked out of the DLC's main story. A subsequent opportunity to reverse the decision is presented, but choosing "Made my decision" will result in your quest failing, thus limiting your gameplay in the expansion.

Although players have the option to load an earlier save to alter their decision, the process can be tedious, especially if one has not saved for some time. As such, exercising caution during decisions is advised. "Phantom Liberty" is now available, but only on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, leaving last-gen console users disappointed.
