Warzone's Latest Move to Stay Relevant: Mobile Cross-Progression

Mar 01, 2024 10:14 AM

Activision has announced the worldwide release date for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, scheduled for March 21 on iOS and Android, promising to deliver the celebrated battle royale experience from PC and consoles to mobile platforms. A significant feature of Warzone Mobile is its seamless cross-progression with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone across all platforms. This means players can maintain their progression and unlocks, including player rank, weapon levels, and most store bundles. The games are united through one's Activision ID which also syncs friends lists and chats. Furthermore, a unified battle pass lets players advance across Warzone Mobile, Modern Warfare 3, and Warzone simultaneously.

The mobile version will include well-known maps such as Verdansk, allowing 120 players for battle royale, and Rebirth Island for a 48-player Resurgence mode. It doesn't stop at battle royale; traditional multiplayer maps like Shipment and Shoot House will be available alongside modes such as Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, and Search and Destroy. Other features include controller support, extensive customization options for touch controls, and adjustable visuals.

Can you play Warzone Mobile with a controller?

Yes, Warzone Mobile supports controllers in addition to touch screen controls, and offers customization options for both input methods.

Warzone Mobile represents a step forward in Activision's strategy to deepen its footprints in the mobile gaming market. By integrating multiplayer maps and modes along with cross-progression, the game is expected to draw players from existing Call of Duty titles, thereby providing a consistent gaming experience, regardless of the platform. Its alignment with the broader Call of Duty ecosystem could prove instrumental in reinvigorating the brand's relevance in the competitive mobile gaming space.
