Warwick Davis, star of the TV show "Willow," has criticised Disney for removing the show from their streaming service Disney+, labeling the move as "embarrassing". On Twitter, Davis expressed his concern for the fans who now can't watch the series on the platform, questioning Disney's management decision. "Willow" was taken down earlier this year as part of Disney's cost-cutting measures that saw a significant number of shows removed from Disney+ and Hulu. Among other popular shows that faced the same fate were "The World According To Jeff Goldblum" and "Y: The Last Man". Yet, it's the removal of "Willow" that stirred considerable discontent among the viewership. The series had its premiere in November 2022 and was abruptly removed in less than half a year.

Contrarily, Jon Kasdan, the creator of the show, held a slightly different perspective towards its exclusion. He expressed gratitude for all the support and enthusiasm and figured that it might make the show more special as it might find a place somewhere else in the future.

Currently, the show isn't available anywhere and its absence particularly stings as the first anniversary of "Willow" approaches. IGN's review of the show awarded it a 9/10 rating, extolling Jon Kasdan for the impassioned revival of the series that struck the perfect balance between catering to new audiences and continuing the saga loved by the '80s generation. The insightful cinematography, resonating performances, and compelling storytelling were applauded as being emblematic of Disney+ at its best.
