In a unique partnership, The Pokemon Company International has teamed up with the Van Gogh Museum to introduce new audiences to the work of Vincent van Gogh in an exciting and innovative way. This collaboration is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Van Gogh Museum and features themed activities, limited-edition merchandise, and special promotional cards around Pokemon characters.
The museum, located in Amsterdam, will host various Van Gogh and Pokemon-themed activities from September 28 until January 7. These activities will include art presentations, learning materials, and even classes teaching how to draw Pikachu.
One of the key highlights of this collaboration is the exclusive merchandise and card artwork that's been launched. Fans can now grab a plush toy of Pikachu styled like Van Gogh or a tote bag adorned with 'Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat'. There's even a Snorlax 'The Bedroom'-inspired jigsaw puzzle that's undeniably charming.
In addition to these, a special 'Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat' promotional card for Pokemon's Trading Card Game has been released. This card will be available to those visiting the exhibit at the museum and will also be included with qualifying orders from the Pokemon Center website.
Several other pieces of Van Gogh inspired artworks featuring characters like Sunflora, Eevee, and Smeargle have also been spotted online. These artworks will be displayed at the Van Gogh Museum, even though they won't be available as promotional cards like Pikachu's.
Whether you're planning a trip to the museum or cosying up at home with Pikachu and his grey felt hat, this Pokemon x Van Gogh Museum collaboration is definitely something to look out for.
