Videogame news highlights a major update for Gran Turismo 7, the 1.40 patch, announced by developer Polyphony Digital. This significant update brings a wealth of new content, including the introduction of four-player split-screen races. The patch also delivers novel game features such as snow race tracks for icy races playable during day or night. Seven new cars, including the Tesla Model 3, have been added to the game. Two elements exclusive to the PS5 version are also part of this update: the option to race against Gran Turismo Sophy, a prototype AI racing agent, in a Quick Race, and the extended availability of split-screen races for up to four players simultaneously. The 1.40 patch will be accessible to both PS4 and PS5 users.
The addition of new circuit "Lake Louise" with 3 layouts, updates to world circuits, 'Sophy' (AI Driver Agent) with Quick Race (PS5 Exclusive), Paddock addition to Multiplayer Menu, and updates to GT Menu/Dashboard also comes with the update. A total of 50 challenges were also added to licenses, bringing more depth to the game. In IGN's review, Gran Turismo 7 scored a 9 out of 10, illustrating its overall positive reception within the gaming community.
