A recently disclosed deleted scene from the first season of the TV show "Loki" unveils Chris Hemsworth's character Throg, the Frog of Thunder, in action. The scene, which was shared online by Culture Crave, shows Throg wielding a mini Mjolnir and confronting the God of Mischief, played by Tom Hiddleston.
The shared cut exhibits a higher-profile appearance for Frog Thor than was seen in the fifth episode of the series. In the video lasting 11 seconds, Frog Thor interrupts Loki's coronation, shouting in shock and fury, "You turned me into a frog!" before jumping at the God of Mischief and landing a hard blow.
Despite fans questioning why the humorous scene was removed from the show, Culture Crave clarified that it was during a sequence that showcased Loki's life events, which were rather gloomy, hence a comical scene might have felt out of place. Loki's producer, Eric Martin, confirmed this, adding that keeping the story paced required the scene's reduction, despite its comic appeal.
The character Throg made a cameo in the fifth episode of Loki, which has Loki traversing through a strange, hazardous place abounding with mystery, in which Throg was found inside a jar, probably making a reference to Thor #365 where Frog Thor's adventures take center stage.
Fans can look forward to a second season of Loki set to be released on October 5th, where fresh adventures await the infamous God of Mischief at the Time Variance Authority. Fans can also get up to speed with the series on Blu-ray or 4K UHD, or by watching the new featurette 'Loki Through the Years' by Marvel Studios.
