Fans of the psychological thriller Alan Wake 2 can look forward to an exciting update coming to the game as developer Remedy Entertainment has announced the addition of a New Game Plus mode. This free update is slated for release on Monday, providing players with a fresh gameplay experience, including the retention of all weapons and upgrades from their initial playthrough. Moreover, a new Nightmare difficulty level will be introduced.

Fascinatingly, New Game Plus will feature an alternative storyline complete with additional Manuscript pages and video content to deepen the narrative. Future expansions for the game are on the docket, with both paid and free content to enhance the gameplay experience. The upcoming paid expansions are titled Night Springs and The Lake House, drawing inspiration from the game's universe.

Alan Wake 2, which premiered earlier this fall on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and the Epic Games Store, allows players to switch between the protagonist, writer Alan Wake, and FBI agent Saga Anderson, exploring the mysterious and unsettling town of Bright Falls.

For those unfamiliar, Alan Wake, the franchise's first entry from 2010, follows a writer's descent into madness while searching for his missing wife. The sequel, Alan Wake 2, continues the trademark suspense and horror, building on its legacy with unexpected plot turns and gameplay sequences.

When will the New Game Plus mode for Alan Wake 2 be available?

The New Game Plus mode update for Alan Wake 2 will be available starting Monday, December 11.
