Feb 07, 2024 10:44 AM

Ubisoft's upcoming pirate game, 'Skull and Bones', has shared insights into its creation process in a newly released developer diary. The developer discusses the extensive research conducted to authentically portray the game's setting, which allows players to explore the seas as pirates with a focus on multiplayer gameplay. The highly anticipated title, first announced in 2017, faced multiple delays but is finally set to release on February 16 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Players who purchase special editions can start three days earlier. Prior to the release, Ubisoft is hosting an open beta, giving players a taste of the action and the chance to unlock special rewards that carry over to the full game.

When does the open beta for 'Skull and Bones' begin?

The open beta for 'Skull and Bones' starts tomorrow, ahead of its official release.

'Skull and Bones' is an adventure video game where players take to the high seas during the golden age of piracy. It is a strong return to naval combat and exploration for Ubisoft, reminiscent of elements from previous hits like 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag'. Players will be able to customize their ships, engage in naval battles, and attempt to become the most feared pirate in the game's dynamic open world.
