Tony Hawk’s New Kids’ Show Named “SKATEBIRDS”

Mar 27, 2024 2:50 PM

Tony Hawk, skateboarding legend, is set to launch a new animated TV show for kids named 'Skatebirds'. The program, aimed at youngsters aged 6-11, draws inspiration from Hawk's nickname 'Birdman' and is being developed with Laughing Dragon Studios. 'Skatebirds' is set to infuse each 11-minute episode with themes of teamwork, friendship, and the spirit of the skateboarding community. It focuses on a group of youthful birds who share a passion for skateboarding, emphasizing the sport's adventurous and communal aspects.

When will the animated TV show 'Skatebirds' be released?

As of the latest update, there has been no official release date announced for 'Skatebirds'.

Tony Hawk is not only a sports icon but has also been significantly involved in gaming culture through the 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater' series, which started in 1999 and revitalized interest in both skateboarding and skateboarding video games. The series reached a peak with the successful release of 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2' in 2020, a remake of the original games by Vicarious Visions, since rebranded as Blizzard Albany. However, Tony Hawk revealed in 2022 that plans for 'Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4' were shelved following the studio's merger with Blizzard. This news came before Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, leaving the future of the video game series uncertain.
