The Thing Remastered Drops This Week – Release Date Leaked

Dec 03, 2024 11:38 PM

Nightdive Studios has quietly revealed that the highly anticipated game, The Thing: Remastered, is set for release on December 5, 2024. This survival horror remaster brings back the classic 2002 game with modern enhancements like dynamic lighting, 4K resolution, antialiasing, and higher frame rates, aiming to offer an upgraded experience for fans and newcomers. Although Nightdive hasn’t confirmed this date officially, its mention in an Xbox Wire post covering new game releases from December 2 through December 6 adds credibility to the announcement. The remaster will be available on multiple platforms including Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

When is The Thing: Remastered coming out?

The Thing: Remastered is expected to launch on December 5, 2024.

The Thing is based on John Carpenter's iconic 1982 film, which tells the story of a group of researchers in Antarctica who encounter a shape-shifting alien that can assume the appearance of any living being. The original video game, released in 2002, was praised for its atmosphere and psychological horror elements. Nightdive Studios is known for its dedication to preserving classic games, having successfully remastered various titles to adapt them for modern technologies.
