Bethesda Game Studios recently rolled out an update for Starfield targeted at improving performance and stability issues. The update, Patch 1.7.33, addresses an issue noted by some AMD GPUs users, where star lens flares failed to display appropriately. Bethesda released the information via their website, highlighting that the patch also fixes certain gameplay issues. The most significant tweak has been made for those using AMD graphics cards on their PCs.

Earlier this month, AMD GPU users pointed out an issue where star lens flares were invisible during daylight. Screenshots showcasing this problem were shared on Reddit. Patch 1.7.33 also tackles an issue involving an upscaling feature that caused textures to appear blurry. Bethesda champions two official upscaling technologies: AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 (FSR 2) and FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS). Though third-party mods support Nvidia's DLSS and Intel XeSS, Bethesda confirmed plans to officially support Nvidia's supersampling tech.

Despite performance issues and occasional bugs, Starfield has recorded remarkable success, hitting 10 million players since its launch on September 1, the biggest in Bethesda's history. IGN rated the game 7 out of 10, praising its captivating role-playing quests and competent combat features. The full notes for patch 1.7.33 are available for reference on Bethesda's website.

Lastly, the update also resolves issues concerning characters not appearing in the correct locations, inventory accessibility from vendors, Star Stations displaying as player-owned ships, and more. Graphics and game stability improvements have also been addressed, including issues with Hand Scanner hitching and in-game crashes.
