The creator of the popular farming role-playing game, Stardew Valley, Eric ‘Concerned Ape’ Barone, has hinted at a delightful new feature that may be part of the much-awaited 1.6 update - the ability for players to adorn their pet cats and dogs with hats.
In a Twitter post titled "Hats on cats (and dogs)", Barone shared four visuals of pixel-rendered pets sporting a variety of headwear, such as bows, forager hats, and a stylish fashion hat. This possible new element in which pets can don hats on their own, without using mods, thrilled part of the game's community immensely.
However, the tweet also led to some fans hoping for additional features to be introduced to the game. Various speculations arose whether this cute novelty could be part of the upcoming 1.6 update or the debut of Barone's next creation, the Haunted Chocolatier. Given that several hats, floors, and wallpapers visible in the images correspond exactly with current Stardew Valley materials, it appears that this feature will be part of the former update.
The 1.6 update of Stardew Valley itself is set to bring several fresh traits such as an eight-player multiplayer service for PC, 100 additional dialogue lines, new quest endings in the late game, alongside a spectrum of other new tweaks, articles, and features. Yet, Barone has not announced a specific release date for this new content.
During this waiting period, the producer of Terraria, Cinx, humorously proposed a barter to Barone in the comments, offering to exchange the release date of their own 1.4.5 update for the Stardew Valley 1.6 release date in a private message.
In any case, Stardew Valley lovers should stay tuned and make the most of comprehensive guides and frequently updated articles to optimize their farming experience and discover every secretive charm that the game offers.
