Jul 25, 2024 8:27 PM

Eagle-eyed fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 have spotted hints of a potential remaster for the iconic action RPGs, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2. Images from the convention show statues and branding for "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered." Though Crystal Dynamics has not confirmed the remaster, the game developer has previously engaged with fans about the future of the Legacy of Kain series. This news has revived excitement among fans who have eagerly awaited the series' return.

Will there be a remaster of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2?

As of now, there is no official confirmation from Crystal Dynamics regarding a remaster of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2. However, branding spotted at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 has sparked speculation about the potential remaster of these beloved games.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is a dark fantasy action RPG first released in 1999 for the PS1 and PC. Its sequel, Soul Reaver 2, was released in 2001 for PS2 and PC. Both games are renowned for their immersive world, engaging storylines, and complex characters. Despite the series' dormancy since 2003 with the release of Legacy of Kain: Defiance, it has maintained a loyal fanbase. Crystal Dynamics has shown interest in reviving the series, evidenced by a recent fan survey and the announcement of a prequel graphic novel titled Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver—The Dead Shall Rise.
