resident evil returns to pc via GOG, sequels coming soon

Jun 26, 2024 10:35 AM

The original Resident Evil game is now available on PC once again through a collaboration between Capcom and GOG. This version, not to be confused with the remastered editions, can be purchased on the GOG store for $9.99. Additionally, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 will join the lineup later in 2024, with a bundle option available for $24.99. The original Resident Evil initially launched on PC in 1996 but lacked digital availability until now. Steam is also expected to offer this classic version soon, following a recent PEGI listing. GOG's release includes quality of life improvements and enhanced compatibility for modern systems.

What Resident Evil should Capcom remake next?

Resident Evil - Code: Veronica

Resident Evil is a seminal series in the survival horror genre, beginning with the original game released in 1996. The franchise has seen various sequels and remakes, with notable titles like Resident Evil 2 (2019), Resident Evil 3 (2020), and the highly acclaimed Resident Evil 4 (2005 and its 2023 remake). Capcom's ongoing revitalization efforts reflect the enduring popularity of the series, catering to both nostalgic fans and new players alike. Upcoming projects such as potential remakes for Resident Evil Zero and Code: Veronica continue to excite the gaming community.
