Raiden joins Snake in Fortnite's Metal Gear crossover

Jan 24, 2024 2:49 PM

Fortnite's latest V28.10 update has introduced a new character, Raiden, from the Metal Gear Solid 2 game, drawing excitement and some disappointment from fans. This Raiden is different from the one in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which stirred some reactions regarding his visual design, especially his hips and waist area. Although the skin does not feature the "naked Raiden" version, players can opt to use Raiden with or without his helmet. The addition has reignited memories of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, as players can team up with a squad of characters from that crossover fighting game now that Raiden has joined Fortnite.

Is the Raiden character from Metal Gear Solid 2 available in Fortnite?

Yes, Raiden from Metal Gear Solid 2 is now available in Fortnite as part of the V28.10 update.

Metal Gear Solid 2, developed by Konami and directed by Hideo Kojima, was released in 2001 as a sequel to the original Metal Gear Solid. It is known for its complex story and the introduction of Raiden as a playable character, an unexpected move that replaced the series' long-time protagonist, Solid Snake, for most of the game. The game was well-received and is considered a classic within the stealth genre. Fortnite, developed by Epic Games, has a history of incorporating characters from various franchises, and Raiden's inclusion marks another significant crossover within the game.
