Xbox's top executive Phil Spencer has predicted a future increase in the cost of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. During the Tokyo Game Show, he noted that although their primary focus is on offering more value, a price bump is inevitable. They had previously made a one-time increase after careful deliberation, ensuring valuable services were in place to justify the raise.
The Xbox Game Pass prices already increased in July for new subscribers, and in August for existing ones. Currently, the cost of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate stands at 15 euros per month, a hike of 2 euros. The standard Xbox Game Pass subscription for Xbox now costs 11 euros per month, up by 1 euro. However, subscribers have the flexibility to cancel if they're not using the service to full effect, and then possibly resubscribe when they see interesting new games added.
Despite the raised prices, some subscribers deem it cheaper than individually buying the several games they play through the service.
