Performance of Cities: Skylines 2 at launch not at desired level
Oct 17, 2023 11:30 AMAccording to the developers, the PC version of the game, slated for October 24, is not entirely free of issues despite the team's tireless efforts to deliver the best possible experience. The console version, on the other hand, has been delayed till spring 2024.
Paradox announced, "We've always believed in transparency and hence, we wanted to clarify about the current state of the game. Our team has relentlessly endeavored to deliver the best possible experience, but we did not achieve the level we had envisioned."
Despite these issues, Paradox still believes that releasing the PC version next week is the right choice. They are confident about the unique gameplay and features of 'Cities: Skylines 2' and assure players that it offers a great experience. Furthermore, they plan to continue refining the game performance over the coming months.
Paradox also disclosed that 'Cities: Skylines 2' will not support Steam Workshop, a platform used for sharing player-created content and mods for many games. Instead, the company is developing its own platform, Paradox Mods, which is currently in beta phase. This tool is expected to be officially launched shortly after the release of 'Cities: Skylines 2'.
