New Cities: Skylines 2 Patch Aims to Boost Performance

Oct 27, 2023 9:50 AM

A new patch for Cities: Skylines 2 has been released by Colossal Order to improve the game's performance. The patch, which is now available on Steam, should soon be added to the Microsoft Store version of the game. The update aims to make the use of various in-game effects, such as global illumination and depth of field, more stable. The game should also run more smoothly at higher resolutions. The changes can be found in the patch notes.

Cities: Skylines 2 is currently available for PC. The PS5 and Xbox Series versions have been delayed until spring 2024. Prior to the game's release, Colossal Order had warned that its performance was not at the desired level. Since its release, there have been numerous player complaints, leading to the developer promising to patch and improve performance.

The game was reviewed by Lars Cornelis, who awarded it an 8 out of 10, remarking that while Colossal Order has a solid foundation for future growth, it currently sees its own predecessor as its main competitor.
