The highly anticipated Batman spin-off series, "The Penguin," has unveiled a new trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, coupled with a premiere date of September 19, 2024, on Max. The series dives deep into Gotham's violent drug wars, showcasing Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin. The trailer also offers an intriguing look at Cristin Milioti's character, Sofia Falcone, known as The Hangman, who seeks to reclaim her father's territory with ruthless determination. The series will feature an eight-episode run, airing weekly, and takes place one week after the events of "The Batman," setting the stage for "The Batman 2." This series exists within Matt Reeves' 'Batman Epic Crime Saga' and stands apart from the new DCU.

When does "The Penguin" premiere on Max?

"The Penguin" is set to premiere on Max on September 19, 2024, and will air weekly at 6pm PT/9pm ET.

"The Penguin" is a spin-off series from Matt Reeves' "The Batman," released in March 2022. Colin Farrell's portrayal of Oswald Cobblepot left fans craving more, leading to this expansion into a standalone series. The character of Sofia Falcone, played by Cristin Milioti, adds a layer of complexity with her deep connection to Gotham's criminal underworld. The series promises to explore the gritty and dark atmosphere established in Reeves' film, further enriching the lore of Gotham City and setting the narrative for future Batman projects.
