Palworld Welcomes First Raid Boss, Forces Pals Back to Work

Apr 04, 2024 10:43 AM

The creature-collecting survival game Palworld has just received a major update which introduces the first raid boss to the game. Players can now summon a new powerful raid boss named Bellanoir using slabs at the newly added Summoning Altar. This addition isn’t the only change, as the update also includes new items, buildings, and a controversial feature where you can force Pal creatures to work by physically tossing them into factories.

Alongside the intimidating raid boss, which also has an extreme version for hardcore players, the game's developers have brought in useful items such as training manuals for Pal experience points, "Ability Glasses" for stat viewing, and a "Homeward Thundercloud" for quick teleports to base. New infrastructure such as an electric egg incubator and an ore mining site are some of the structural enhancements. Players can now exert greater control over their Pals’ professions through the monitoring stand, assigning or forbidding them from certain types of work. Other updates include item collection changes on dedicated servers and typical game balancing and bug fixes.

The developers at Pocketpair have hinted at a larger content update planned for summer 2024, potentially including a new island and additional exploratory and combat options. This update indicates the continuous growth of Palworld, challenging the traditional norms of survival and creature-collecting genre with its dark humor and satirical elements.

What new features does the Palworld update include?

The latest Palworld update adds the game’s first raid boss, new items such as training manuals and "Ability Glasses", buildings like an electric egg incubator, an ore mining site, and the controversial mechanic of forcing Pals back to work. It also mentions a larger update planned for summer 2024.

Palworld is known as a multiplayer, open-world survival crafting game developed by Pocketpair. The game, often described as a blend of Pokémon-like creature collecting and survival mechanics, gained attention for its unique take on creature exploitation and the moral dilemmas it presents to the player. Its various gameplay elements include fighting, breeding, farming, and building, all within an expansive fantasy world populated with numerous creatures known as "Pals".
