In its first four weeks of release, over 14.5 million player accounts were created for EA Sports FC 24, as announced by Electronic Arts during the unveiling of their quarterly figures. The CEO, Andrew Wilson, touts the release as successful, transforming one of the world's largest franchises into a powerful, interactive platform for future football fans. Players who logged into the game before November will receive a free Erling Haaland item in Ultimate Team this coming December.
The game is available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC. EA has been releasing the Fifa series until last year, but they and Fifa decided not to renew their contract, leading to the game series adopting a new name from this year. According to Lars Cornelis, EA Sports FC 24, though different in name, is akin to a new Fifa but one that can be played with pleasure. This pleasure is attributed to improved and smoother animations which solve major pain points from previous years.
