Ori-makers Delay No Rest for the Wicked to Q2

Feb 10, 2024 9:00 AM

Fans of Moon Studios, the creators behind the enchanting Ori series, will have to display a bit more patience as the studio's upcoming game, 'No Rest for the Wicked', is delayed to the second quarter of this year. This change was announced by Take-Two, the owner of Private Division, the publisher releasing 'No Rest for the Wicked'. Originally anticipated for the first quarter of 2024, the release window now extends to sometime between April and June without a specific reason cited for the delay.

'No Rest for the Wicked' is an action RPG and marks a darker, more realistic turn for Moon Studios compared to the Ori games. Set in the year 841 after the death of a king, the game follows a Cerim, a member of a group of sacred warriors with special powers, as they fight to hold back a returning plague known as the Pestilence amidst political turmoil. The title promises precise combat and an epic narrative, featuring a hand-crafted, picturesque game world. After about six years in development, 'No Rest for the Wicked' is seen as a passion project for the studio. Although initially releasing in Early Access on Steam, the game will eventually make its way to PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. A digital presentation on March 1st will reveal more details about the game.

What platforms will 'No Rest for the Wicked' be available on?

'No Rest for the Wicked' will first launch in Early Access on Steam, with future plans to release on PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.

Moon Studios has built a reputation for crafting visually stunning and emotionally engaging games, particularly through their Ori series - 'Ori and the Blind Forest' and its sequel 'Ori and the Will of the Wisps'. These games are celebrated for their captivating art style, fluid gameplay mechanics, and moving soundtracks which have garnered a dedicated following. 'No Rest for the Wicked', while presenting a tonal shift with its darker narrative and action RPG elements, is expected to display the same level of artistry and attention to detail that fans have come to associate with Moon Studios' creations.

With 'No Rest for the Wicked', Moon Studios aims to deliver a deep, story-driven experience that integrates demanding combat with a profound saga set in a hand-crafted environment, demonstrating their ambition to evolve beyond the platforming genre and explore new storytelling methods and gameplay mechanics.

Ah, bummer to hear about the delay for 'No Rest for the Wicked', but I'm intrigued by Moon Studios' leap into action RPG territory. Knowing their track record with the Ori series, I'm expecting some stunning visuals and a captivating narrative once it finally lands on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Can't wait to see more at the digital presentation in March

Looks like Moon Studios is taking their time to ensure 'No Rest for the Wicked' hits the mark, with a slight delay in its release. Given their track record with the Ori series, it's exciting to see them explore a darker, action RPG narrative and maintain their commitment to stunning visuals and compelling storytelling. Can't wait to experience it on Steam and eventually on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S
