New World Arrives: Aeternum Coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series

Amazon has unveiled New World: Aeternum, an updated version of its hit MMO now coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC on October 15, 2024. This release promises an "enhanced experience" incorporating all previous updates, new player vs. player zones, 10-player raids, solo trials, and a revamped gameplay system. Players can enjoy cross-platform play with added features tailored specifically for consoles. Priced at $59.99, there will also be a Deluxe Edition available for $79.99, featuring exclusive in-game items. Aeternum is set on a supernatural island filled with dynamic skill-based combat, customizable characters, and a rich crafting system.

New World: Aeternum includes all past updates and new features such as large-scale player vs. player zones, a 10-player raid, solo end-game trials, an upgraded leveling experience, new character archetypes, and a revamped dialogue system. It also offers cross-platform play and various console-specific enhancements like target locking, aim assist, and virtual cursor controls.

New World originally launched in 2021 and captured substantial attention with its unique setting in an alternate 1600s America. Despite an impressive peak of 913,634 concurrent players, numbers have since declined. Amazon aims to reinvigorate interest with this new release. The MMO is known for its vibrant world, dynamic combat system incorporating swords, guns, and magic, as well as its classless character development.
