New PS5 models, according to insider, to release on 8th or 10th November

Oct 19, 2023 1:59 PM

According to insider Billbil-kun, new PlayStation 5 models could potentially be released on 8 or 10 November. Billbil-kun, known for regularly leaking accurate information such as monthly PlayStation Plus games, reports that the newer, compact PS5 models will be out in the United States and Japan on November 10. However, no details about a European release date have been mentioned. He also claims that a bundle would be released in the US on November 8, consisting of the new PlayStation 5 model and Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Earlier this month, Sony announced two new PlayStation 5 models destined to replace the current systems. The console continues to be available in two variants; one with a disk drive priced at 549.99 euros and another without it for 449.99 euros. The new feature enables users to remove the disk drive from the former, allowing for the digital model to incorporate one. A standalone drive will cost 119.99 euros in Europe.

The new models feature an SSD with a 1-terabyte storage capacity, an improvement over the 825 gigabytes found in the older version. Inclusion of a standard base for placing consoles horizontally is part of the package, and a stand for vertical alignment is sold separately at 29.99 euros. The design modifications include the device now consisting of four interchangeable panels, with the top two shiny and the bottom two matte.

According to Sony, the new models are approximately 30 percent smaller and 18-24 percent lighter than the original PlayStation 5 models. There are no further specification changes. An official release date hasn’t been announced yet, Sony merely indicated during the announcement that the systems would be released sometime in November.n
