NEW FAN FILM GIVES FALLOUT 4'S MAIN STORY A DESERVED ENDING

Apr 02, 2024 9:37 AM

Fans seeking closure on Fallout 4's main story have a new fan film to consider. Titled "Fallout Deadweight," the film offers a touching epilogue to the game's narrative. After the events of the game, the Sole Survivor Nate returns to Vault 111 with his dog, Dogmeat, and engages in combat with some raiders. Completing his journey, Nate places his son Shaun's body next to his deceased spouse, Nora, in a cryo chamber, effectively uniting his family posthumously. This non-official movie presents the players with an alternative ending that can be interpreted as a symbolic closer to the protagonist's family storyline. For those awaiting the official Fallout TV series, the fan film might provide a fitting bridge until the show airs on April 11.

How does "Fallout Deadweight" differ from Fallout 4's original ending?

"Fallout Deadweight" adds a new layer to Fallout 4's ending, focusing on family and closure that the original game's ending may have lacked for some fans. While the game concluded with either the destruction or takeover of The Institute, the fan film extends the story by providing a sense of finality to the Sole Survivor's personal journey, reuniting his deceased family members and establishing a more emotional conclusion.

Fallout 4, developed by Bethesda Game Studios, is an open-world post-apocalyptic RPG set in the remnants of Boston, now known as the Commonwealth. Released in 2015 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, the game is celebrated for its immersive world, player choice, and storytelling. The upcoming Fallout TV series aims to capture the essence of the game's universe and will further expand the franchise's reach to new audiences.
