New DLC Fighter Revealed for TEKKEN 8: Plus Free Updates Galore

Apr 30, 2024 9:01 AM

Tekken 8 continues to expand its roster with the announcement of a new DLC character as well as a lineup of free updates scheduled for the coming months. The game, developed by Bandai Namco, will introduce Lidia Sobieski, the Tekken-politician hailing from Poland, as a DLC character in the summer. Alongside this addition, players can anticipate regular free updates including a photo mode and a new Seaside Resort arena. Fall updates will introduce a new story mode featuring Eddy Gordo, with later updates adding an Online Training mode and a Ghost-vs-Ghost feature.

The series of updates, especially with a focus on free content and engaging modes, may ease some of the recent dissatisfaction among Tekken fans. The franchise experienced a backlash due to the implementation of a Battle Pass system that wasn’t well-received on platforms like Steam. Bandai Namco seems to be listening to its player base and is offering enhancements to keep its fighting game fresh and exciting.

What changes can we expect in Tekken 8's upcoming updates?

The upcoming updates for Tekken 8 will include a new DLC character Lidia Sobieski, a photo mode, a new Seaside Resort arena, a story mode for Eddy Gordo, an Online Training mode, and a Ghost-vs-Ghost battle feature. These updates are part of Bandai Namco's effort to continuously improve the game and address player feedback.

Tekken is a long-standing franchise, known for its 3D fighting game mechanics and a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique fighting styles and backstories. Since its initial release in 1994, the Tekken series has been a staple in the fighting game community, praised for its depth of gameplay and character design. With each installment, Bandai Namco has aimed to innovate and add new features, like the Rage System introduced in Tekken 6 or the Rage Drive and Rage Arts in Tekken 7, all while maintaining the core elements that fans love.
