In an exciting collaboration that ties together gaming and cutting-edge technology, 24 Entertainment has partnered with Hacksmith Industries to create a real-life, functional prosthetic arm. This arm is not just your run-of-the-mill prosthetic; it's inspired by the character Hadi Ismail from the popular melee-focused battle royale game Naraka: Bladepoint. Outfitted with a glimmering golden design, the prosthetic gives a nod to Hadi Ismail's golden arm within the game.
The prosthesis was built upon an advanced research and development hand from biotech company Psyonic. It was customized for JesseLHV, a Naraka: Bladepoint player and YouTuber born without their left hand. To tailor the arm to Jesse specifically, their arm was 3D scanned, leading to the creation of custom components that were then hand-assembled by Hacksmith Industries. The prosthetic includes a 3D printed socket and adapter, allowing it to house the core hand and be aesthetically in line with the game's design. Sensors on the arm muscles and a companion app enable users to execute various commands, including moving fingers individually and gripping objects.
Jesse successfully showcased the prosthetic in action, adapting it to play Naraka: Bladepoint with mouse and keyboard controls. Meanwhile, the game itself continues to evolve, having just launched a new season introducing the Heng Sword and going free-to-play on PS5 with exclusive modes and tournaments. Since its initial 2021 Steam release and subsequent 2022 Xbox debut, Naraka: Bladepoint has cemented its place in the gaming world, further bolstered by its transition to free-to-play in 2023.
How does the prosthetic arm created for Naraka: Bladepoint player JesseLHV work? The prosthetic arm is powered by an app and attached sensors that read muscle movements, allowing Jesse to control individual finger movements and grip objects. It was custom designed, 3D printed, and hand-assembled to fit Jesse and reflect the aesthetic of Hadi Ismail's golden arm from Naraka: Bladepoint.
Extra Background Information: Naraka: Bladepoint is an innovative martial arts-infused battle royale game developed by 24 Entertainment. It sets itself apart with a focus on melee combat and parkour-inspired movement mechanics, providing a unique alternative to the traditional gun-focused battle royale formula. Since its free-to-play transition, it has garnered an even larger player base, offering a fresh take on the genre with frequent updates and new content to keep the gameplay experience exciting for its community.
