Mortal Kombat 1 Leak Reveals Ghostface from Scream Voice Line

Jun 05, 2024 12:59 PM

A dataminer has revealed that Ghostface from the Scream franchise is likely to be a future DLC character for Mortal Kombat 1. This discovery follows the recent release of Homelander as a DLC character and a game patch. The dataminer @interloko uncovered audio files from the Mileena announcer that have her saying "Ghostface" twice. While NetherRealm Studios hasn't officially announced Ghostface as part of the DLC, it's assumed he will be a part of the upcoming Kombat Pack 2. This speculation isn't far-fetched as Ghostface was listed among potential DLC characters in an earlier datamine. Furthermore, Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat's development chief, had previously teased the inclusion of several iconic horror characters, including Ghostface.

When will Mortal Kombat 1 receive new DLC characters?

The release date for the new DLC characters in Mortal Kombat 1 has not been officially announced. However, one can expect them to be included in the next Kombat Pack, which is anticipated to accompany future updates or events within the game.

The Mortal Kombat franchise has a history of incorporating popular characters from other media as guest fighters, such as Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Leatherface. These collaborations have brought a unique blend of horror and action to the game, making each DLC release highly anticipated among fans. The inclusion of Ghostface, known for his iconic role in the Scream series, would continue this tradition and add a fresh dynamic to the roster of characters.
