Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki has expressed interest in developing a traditional JRPG in the future. Miyazaki prefers to work on projects where he can offer his interpretation, similar to his work on Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. Currently, the gaming world is deeply engaged in the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring.

No, Hidetaka Miyazaki has indicated that he does not plan to revive any old FromSoftware JRPGs like Enchanted Arms, Otogi, or King’s Field. He prefers to work on projects where he can offer his own creative interpretation.

Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware, has quickly become a landmark title in the RPG genre. Its intricate lore, challenging gameplay, and expansive open world have captivated players worldwide. The latest DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, continues to build on the rich universe by introducing new regions, quests, and characters, keeping players engaged and seeking out every last secret hidden in the Land of Shadow.

Miyazaki's focus on originality and fresh interpretations promises exciting new experiences for fans, even if it means leaving classic titles like King's Field in the past. The anticipation for Shadow of the Erdtree DLC just goes to show how enthralled the community is with Elden Ring's ever-expanding universe.

Miyazaki diving into a traditional JRPG could bring a fresh perspective and some serious FromSoftware flair to the genre. While it's a bummer he won’t revisit old IPs, his unique vision has always led to groundbreaking projects, so I’m stoked to see what he cooks up next.
