Microsoft Acquires Top 3 Wishlist Game on Steam for Initial PC Game Pass Release

Microsoft has acquired Manor Lords, a highly-anticipated PC city-builder game, as a day-one Game Pass launch title. The game, developed by Slavic Magic, is set to be released via Steam and GOG in early access on April 26, 2024, and will simultaneously be available on PC Game Pass. A later release for consoles and Xbox Game Pass is planned.

Manor Lords, which currently ranks as the third most-wishlisted game on Steam, was featured during Microsoft’s Xbox Partner Preview October 2023 broadcast. The game offers a mix of city-building features, real-time combat, and elaborate production chains, all set in a world inspired by 14th-century medieval life.

Polish studio Slavic Magic, led by Greg Styczen, is primarily responsible for the development of Manor Lords. Gamers must exploit local resources, expand their settlements, establish trade routes, survive harsh conditions- such as the first winter-, and defend their territory against threats like bandits and rival lords in the game.
